Individual Counseling

People come to our counselors for a variety of reasons. From coping with major life challenges or childhood trauma, to dealing with depression or anxiety, to simply desiring personal growth. People often need a safe place and open heart to work through life’s challenges.

Working one-on-one with a professional counselor, you’ll have a safe, caring and confidential environment to explore your feelings, beliefs and behaviors. Our counselors will work with you to help identify aspects of your life that you want to improve. We help you better understand your situation, set personal goals, and work toward a better future.

Group Counseling

Group counseling is a form of treatment where a small group of people meet to talk, share, and discuss life’s challenges with each other. Led by a trained professional counselor in a safe and confidential location, group counseling can help you see that you aren’t alone in your struggles. In many cases, a group counseling experience helps you gain insight into your own thoughts and behaviors, while also benefitting from others who’ve gone through similar struggles.

Children’s Counseling

Working with children requires a special approach, and our expert counselors have years of experience helping children. We strive to build trust with each child, helping them see the world and themselves in new and better ways. Our goal is to equip them with tools and resources they can use as adolescents, but also to help them grow into healthy adults.

Couples and Family Counseling

In couples and family counseling, we look at the overall interactions and communications between family members. We emphasize the importance of household relationships as a key factor in maintaining a healthy family or marriage. By involving all family members in the process, everyone sees how his/her words or actions impact the health of the relationship.

Psychological Evaluations

Psychological testing provides valuable information regarding an individual’s cognitive, emotional, intellectual, and/or behavioral functioning. It consists of a series of tests that are utilized to help provide diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations. We offer services for clients from school age through adulthood.

To start, an intake interview is conducted to obtain a detailed history. Any additional helpful information (such as report cards, standardized testing reports, medical history, previous evaluations, or court documents) should be shared with the evaluator. Self-report rating scales may be administered. The testing appointment will be scheduled during the intake interview. The amount of time spent in direct testing will vary depending upon presenting concerns. Upon completion of testing, the evaluator will prepare a report and provide results, feedback, and recommendations at a follow-up session that is typically scheduled two to three weeks after the testing appointment.

Types of Evaluations/Testing conducted:

  • Full psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults, which evaluate intellectual, emotional, behavioral, and personality functioning. Examples of diagnostic clarification include IQ testing, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma, personality disorders, and behavioral disorders.
  • Pain pump evaluations
  • Spinal cord stimulator evaluations

No show/cancellation policy for psychological testing appointments

Intakes: We request 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Cancellations made prior to this window are rescheduled with no penalty. Cancellations made without 24 hours’ notice but prior to the start of the session incur a $50 late-cancellation fee. No-shows or cancellations made after the start of the session incur the full fee.

Testing appointments: Due to the length of appointment times for these evaluations, a $300 cancellation fee may be charged for appointments cancelled without at least 48 hours’ notice. Insurance companies and most other third-party payors cannot be billed for missed appointments, and it is very difficult to fill these times with little notice. The fee may be waived for special circumstances upon discussion with your testing provider.
